I haven’t updated my blog here. Haha too much into YM and Fotopage. Everything else has been forgotten. Even my work! Haha. No lyric this time. Just normal boring blog entry I guess.

I am so happy actually that, despite my untouched work, I have known many kind people out there. They’ve been kind enough to chat with old boring me! Hahaha. To all of the Kopitiam gang, can’t wait to see you guyz this summer!! Honestly, it will be great! Hahahaha.

Thank you to those who have helped me with photography stuff like editing and things like that. I can never do them! But thanks to you, I can do some editing…haha!

Here I would like to promote my fotopage (huhu). Please visit http://alynnsis.fotopages.com . Comments and critics are most welcome! If you’ve stopped by, just leave a mark! I would truly appreciate. Here is a photo taken in Brussel, Belgium.

Jesus Take The Wheel

December 8th, 2005 by alynn

OK, this can be a bit contradicting or religious or whatever you wanna call it, but I couldnt help loving the song. It s called ‘Jesus Take The Wheel’ by Carrie Underwood. It is the best song ever and very touching as well. Love Carrie’s voice here coz somehow she makes me…sad and emotional in a way. I was listening carefully to the lyric and honestly, if you pay close attention, you can actually imagine the whole song in real situation. Of course, loads of metaphors were used but even literal meaning was strong enough to make one cry. I felt the song, and hope you guys do too. Enjoy and please listen to the song!!!! Its really good!!

She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It would been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn’t pay attention
She was going way to fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn’t even have time to cry
She was sooo scared
She threw her hands up in the air

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can’t do this all on my own
I’m letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I’m on
Jesus take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I’m sorry for the way
I’ve been living my life
I know I’ve got to change
So from now on tonight

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can’t do this all my own
I’m letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I’m on

Oh, Jesus take the wheel
Oh, I’m letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I’m on
From this road I’m on
Jesus take the wheel
Oh, take it, take it from me
Oh, why, oh

Its JOKE time! Just wanna have a lil bit of laugh ;) And to make things clear, NO OFFENSE!!! Its just for fun.

Ok, this one is really funny…coz its true!:

THINGS I LEARNED FROM MOVIES

1. If being chased through town, you can usually take cover in a passing St Patrick’s Day parade - at any time of the year.

2. All beds have special L-shaped top sheets that reach up to armpit level on a woman but only waist level on the man lying beside her.

3. All grocery shopping bags contain at least one stick of French bread.

4. Once applied, lipstick will never rub off - even while scuba diving.

5. The ventilation system of any building is a perfect hiding place. No one will ever think of looking for you in there and you can travel to any other part of the building without difficulty.

6. Should you wish to pass yourself off as a German officer, it will not be necessary to speak the language. A German accent will do.

7. The Eiffel Tower can be seen from any window of any building in Paris.

8. A man will show no pain while taking the most ferocious beating but will wince when a woman tries to clean his wounds.

9. When paying for a taxi, never look at your wallet as you take out a note - just grab one at random and hand it over. It will always be the exact fare.

10. If you lose a hand, it will cause the stump of your arm to grow by 15cm.

11. Mothers routinely cook eggs, bacon and waffles for their family every morning, even though the husband and children never have time to eat them.

12. Cars and trucks that crash will almost always burst into flames.

13. A single match will be sufficient to light up a room the size of a football stadium.

14. Medieval peasants had perfect teeth.

15. All single women have a cat.

16. Any person waking from a nightmare will sit bolt upright and pant.

17. One man shooting at 20 men has a better chance of killing them all than 20 men firing at one.

18. Creepy music coming from a graveyard should always be closely investigated.

19. Most people keep a scrapbook of newspaper cuttings - especially if any of their family or friends has died in a strange boating accident.

20. It does not matter if you are heavily outnumbered in a fight involved martial arts - your enemies will wait patiently to attack you one by one by dancing around in a threatening manner until you have knocked out their predecessor.

21. During a very emotional confrontation, instead of facing the person you are speaking to, it is customary to stand behind them and talk to their back.

22. When you turn out the light to go to bed, everything in your room will still be clearly visible, just slightly bluish.

23. Dogs always know who’s bad and will naturally bark at them.

24. When they are alone, all foreigners prefer to speak English to each other.

25. Rather than wasting bullets, megalomaniacs prefer to kill their arch-enemies using complicated machinery involving fuses, pulley systems, deadly gases, lasers and man eating sharks that will allow their captives at least 20 minutes to escape.

26. Having a job of any kind will make all fathers forget their son’s eighth birthday.

27. Many musical instruments - especially wind instruments and accordions - can be played without moving the fingers.

28. All bombs are fitted with electronic timing devices with large red readouts so you know exactly when they’re going to go off.

29. It is always possible to park directly outside the building you are visiting.

30. A detective can only solve a case once he has been suspended from duty.

31. If you decide to start dancing in the street, everyone you bump into will know all the steps.

Nicholas_photoimpact_1

Nicholas did not get enough votes to stay in the competition. Nevertheless, I am sure he’ll be a successful singer someday. He’s sooo sweet and has a unique voice. Gone but never forgotten.

Now Shayne’s the only one left in Louis’ group. Hope he goes all the way through final. Just a reminder, X-Factor is tomorrow at 6:30pm guyz!!! At ITV1. Don’t forget to watch it :-)

Double trouble??

November 18th, 2005 by alynn

No, it is actually…double entries ^_^ haha. neway, I am definitely a big fan of the reality tv show The X-Factor on ITV…I’ll always be there in front of the tv every saturday evening…never miss it for the world! My two favourites are Shayne from Manchester and Nicholas from North London. They’re just fantastic!!!!!!! Shayne looks sooooooooooo like Justin Timberlake. Honestly, I was slightly shocked when I first saw him. He has a great voice, stage presence and he looks like a celebrity already. Nicholas is more of a cool guy. I love his fashion styles and his voice is just WOW! Hope to see them in the final!

Don’t Love You No More (I’m Sorry)

November 18th, 2005 by alynn

I just LOVE this song. Its B.E.A.U.tiful! and craig’s voice blends perfectly into it. here’s the lyric! PERFECT~

For all the years that I’ve known you baby
I can’t figure out the reason why lately you’ve been acting so cold
(didn’t you say)
If there’s a problem we should work it out
So why you giving me the cold shoulder now
Like you don’t even wanna talk to me girl
(tell me)
Ok I know I was late again
I made you mad and then it’s throwing the pan
But why are you making this drag on so long
(i wanna know)
I’m sick and tired of this silly games
(silly games)
Don’t figure that I’m the only one here to blame
It’s not me here who’s been going round slamming doors
That’s when you turned and said to me
I don’t care babe who’s right or wrong
I just don’t love you no more.

[CHORUS]
Rain outside my window pouring down
What now, your gone, my fault, I’m sorry
Feeling like a fool cause I let you down
Now it’s, too late, to turn it around
I’m sorry for the tears I made you cry
I guess this time it really is goodbye
You made it clear when you said
I just don’t love you no more

[VERSE 2]
I know that I made a few mistakes
But never thought that things would turn out this way
Cause I’m missing something now that your gone
(I see it all so clearly)
Me at the door with you inner state
(inner state)
Giving my reasons but as you look away
I can see a tear roll down your face
That’s when you turned and said to me
I don’t care babe who’s right or wrong
I just don’t love you no more.

[CHORUS]
Rain outside my window pouring down
What now, your gone, my fault, I’m sorry
Feeling like a fool cause I let you down
Now it’s, too late, to turn it around
I’m sorry for the tears I made you cry
I guess this time it really is goodbye
You made it clear when you said
I just don’t love you no more

[BRIDGE]
Don’t say those words it’s so hard
They turn my whole world upside down
Girl you caught me completely off guard
On the night you said to me
I just don’t love you more.

Understanding Architecture

November 16th, 2005 by alynn

Eye-opening quotes from famous architects:

Louis Kahn (1901-1974)

"Design is not making beauty, beauty emerges from selection, affinities, integration, love."

"A great building must begin with the unmeasurable, must go through measurable means when it is being designed and in the end must be unmeasurable."

Richard Rogers (1933 - now)

"My passion and great enjoyment for architecture, and the reason the older I get the more I enjoy it, is because I believe we - architects - can effect the quality of life of the people."

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969)

"Architecture starts when you carefully put two bricks together. There it begins."

"Less is more." - This quote was actually mentioned to me by my unit tutor, Colin.

Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959)

"The mother art is architecture. Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization."

""Think simple" as my old master used to say - meaning reduce the whole of its parts into the simplest terms, getting back to first principles."  - In my view, this relates well to van der Rohe’s quote "Less is more"

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you."

"Every great architect is - necessarily - a great poet. He must be a great original interpreter of his time, his day, his age."
